Who We Are & What Do We Do

1. We are not here to discover who we are but to recover who we are.
Jeremiah 1:5 ““I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.””
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Identity Precedes our Awareness
-God knew Jeremiah before forming him in the womb and set him apart as a prophet (Jeremiah 1:5)
-God’s plans for us exist before we recognize them, plans of a good and not disasters.
-This divine intentionality means your identity isn’t something you invent through self-discovery; it’s something you align with and recover.
2. Our true identity is declared by God and He calls us to it.
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Philippians 1:6 “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
1 Peter 2:9 “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”
3. People Need What God Has Given You.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
-God has called, completed and equipped you for this place, day and time. He has given you everything you need for the work ahead.
What do I do?

Give Hope:
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Other scriptures to read: Philippians 4:6, 4:19
Give Strength:
Psalms 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.”
Give Direction:
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
